Kos Town and the island's capital is built at the northeastern side of the island. It has a long history that goes back centuries. Today, the town enchants tourists as it offers the comforts of a big city, but still keeps its traditional character alive.
If you take a walk around the town you will see the remains of the ancient town, the altar of Dionysos, the venetian castle and others that reveal the significance of this town during past eras.
Nowadays Kos Town is a modern town with big hotel complexes, shops, services, restaurants and clubs, which attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world.
